Xiomar “Xio” Luna (pronounced: “Zee-oh-mar”) is a cartoonist, zinester, and arts educator who also sometimes makes prints, paintings, and jewelry. Originally from South Bend, IN, they graduated from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in 2012 with a BFA in Comic Art. They were a founding member of the (now disbanded) Plus Dog Collective, and were half of the team behind the comic, “Collision Course”.
Xiomar is an Aquarius whose work centers trans/ queer experiences and things that are otherworldly. They love punk rock, astrology, anime, sparkly things, and watching documentaries about horrible things. Currently, Xio spends their time working in a comic shop, organizing for Twin Cities Zinefest, and drawing their upcoming surreal-horror/ gay romance comic, Basket Star, which they hope to release by the end of 2026.
